Back Issue: a magazine blog template for Framer

Back Issue is a blog template we made for blogs that already have years of posts. Each year becomes a volume with its number set large, each post is a numbered entry in the contents, and a post without a photo gets a cover set from its title instead of an empty box.

Made to be filled from an old blog

The blog runs on the collection the Blog Import plugin creates. Remix the template, open Blog Import on the Blog collection, choose your export file or WordPress address, pick “2 collections, Blog and categories” and tick the box to replace the sample posts. Years, entry numbers, covers and title sizes come from your posts, so imported posts need nothing set by hand.

Your newest 25 posts import free. A Blog Import license imports the rest, and Back Issue buyers get 30% off it with the code in their purchase email.

Posts without a photo

An old blog rarely has a strong photo on every post. In Back Issue those posts get a type cover: the title set large, with the ink taken from the post’s category, sized for short and very long titles.

Plans and limits

The blog uses two CMS collections, posts and categories, so it publishes on Framer Basic. Redirects from your old post addresses need Framer Pro or higher. The extra fields (year, entry number, cover style, title size) are written by Blog Import; if you write a new post in Framer later, the Read me page in the project says which to fill.

$69 once. After paying you get a link that copies the project into your Framer account, plus the setup steps. If the template doesn’t work for you, email proj.seedsmesh@gmail.com within 14 days of buying for a full refund.

Prefer to check out on Gumroad? Back Issue is there too, same price and the same remix link and setup steps.
