Framer is checking a new version of Blog Import, so its Marketplace page is offline for now. Need your blog moved before it's back? Email us and we'll help.
Squarespace renewal went up? Check Core first
Squarespace raised prices for existing sites from 1 August 2026, and each site sees the new price at its renewal, so notices are still arriving. In the Squarespace forum thread about it, renewal notices of $276 and $348 a year are quoted, and Squarespace staff said on 3 August that “an internal error that misapplied prices on certain plans” had sent some people a higher figure than intended. We make Blog Import, a Framer plugin for moving blogs, so we have a stake in you leaving; read the next section first anyway.
Blog Import on the Framer Marketplace is the plugin this page refers to; your newest 25 posts import free.
The cheap fix: check the plan, not the platform
The same forum thread points out that a legacy Business plan renewing at $348 a year can switch to Core and stay at $276. If your site doesn’t use the features of the higher plan, downgrading is less work than moving. If your notice looks higher than the plans on Squarespace’s pricing page, ask their support whether it’s one of the misapplied prices.
If you’d rather leave: what moves and what doesn’t
Framer’s plans are $10 a month (Basic, 2 CMS collections, no redirects) and $30 a month (Pro, 10 collections, redirects), on framer.com/pricing in late October 2026. Pages are rebuilt in Framer, by you, a designer or Framer’s own AI Agent. The blog is the part with years of content in it, and that part can be moved:
- In Squarespace, open the Import & export panel, click Export and pick WordPress. The file holds your posts, drafts, authors, categories and tags.
- In Framer, run Blog Import on the file. Posts land in the CMS with their dates, covers and body, and the images inside posts are copied into Framer, so they keep working after Squarespace is cancelled.
- Squarespace post addresses carry the date (/blog/2024/3/9/my-post). On Framer Pro, the plugin adds a redirect from each of those to the new address, so shared links and search results keep working. On Basic there are no redirects; each post keeps its old address in the Old URL field so you can add them when you upgrade.
- Keep the Squarespace site running until you’ve checked a few posts on Framer and pointed your domain.
Your newest 25 posts import free, so you can see the result before deciding; a license for the rest is $29. If you’d rather have help, email us. Our Squarespace guide has each step in more detail, and Squarespace Import or Blog Import compares the two plugins that read this export.
Before you decide
- Commerce sites, member areas and scheduling don’t move this way; this is for the site and its blog.
- Count your posts and images first: the free export inspector reads the export in your browser.
- To see which images are at addresses on Squarespace, the free image list shows every cover and post image address from the export and downloads as a CSV, so you can save them before you cancel.
- A move takes an afternoon for a small blog and a few days for a big site with many pages. Compare that with the price difference over a year or two.
